Today is the 75th anniversary of one of the most well-known invasions in the history of the United States, D-Day. On this day, the allied forces invaded along the coast of Normandy to stop the German occupation of Europe. It is on days like that that we truly think about what freedom has cost and about the soldiers that have paid for it.
Men and women in the United States Armed Forces deserve to be celebrated whether they serve now or they served before. If you know a veteran or someone in the Armed Forces, make sure to thank them for their service on this day.
Quote of the day: “and they for who their country die shall fill an honored grave, for glory lights the soldier’s tomb, and beauty weeps the brave.”-Joseph Rodman Drake
