A couple of buddies and I went boating out over the weekend. While the water temperature wasn't up to par, the outside weather was just fine. We decided to get a round of tubing in. The water temperature holding at 35 degrees Fahrenheit. We were freezing, our extremities were failing. We weren't used to holding onto a tube and being thrown around like a rag doll since this was the first boating trip of the year. We were out of shape and we weren't as comfortable with the recreation anymore. We failed miserably and weren't able to ride the water as long as we wanted.

As the weather gets warmer and your firearms make it out of their safes to be used again, become familiar with your firearm. Take it to the range, take it apart and get it cleaned. Allow it to be an extension of your person. Utmost make sure you are comfortable using your firearms, make sure you aren't nervous to operate it. Make sure that it is able to function properly so you can stay safe while operating your firearm.
