Davidson Defense Iron Storm 18-inch Mid-Gas 1:10 .308 Win AR-10 M-Lok Handguard Rifle Full Build Kit

Iron Storm 18-inch Mid-Gas 1:10 .308 Win AR-10 M-LOK Handguard Rifle Full Build Kit

This is a complete AR-10 .308 Winchester build kit designed around a mid-length gas system and free-float M-LOK handguard. You get everything needed to complete a lower receiver except the serialized receiver itself, including a nitride bolt carrier group, carbine-length buffer system, and Adaptive Tactical adjustable stock. The 18-inch 4150 CrMoV barrel with 1:10 twist handles standard .308 ammunition reliably, and the billet upper receiver uses DPMS low-profile dimensions for compatibility across the LR-308 platform.

Mid-Length Gas System Balance

The mid-length gas system on this .308 configuration strikes a balance between dwell time and felt recoil. Compared to carbine-length systems, mid-length extends the pressure curve, which helps cycle the heavier .308 bolt carrier group more reliably across standard ammunition loads. This design reduces the sharp recoil impulse you'd experience with a shorter gas tube while maintaining consistent reliability without over-gassing.

Free-Float M-LOK Handguard Design

The Guntec 12-inch free-float handguard isolates the barrel from any contact with the upper receiver, which improves shot-to-shot consistency by eliminating vibration transfer. The M-LOK mounting system allows you to attach accessories directly to the handguard rails without needing separate rail sections. The monolithic Picatinny top rail gives you a solid mounting surface for optics or iron sights without additional adapters.

Bolt Carrier Group Versatility

The Recoil Technologies nitride bolt carrier group uses the LR-308 bolt pattern, which means it's compatible not just with .308 Winchester but also with 6.5 Creedmoor and .243 Win cartridges. Nitride finish provides corrosion resistance and durability without the brittleness sometimes associated with other hard coatings. This BCG pairs with the mid-length gas system to handle the full range of .308 loads you're likely to encounter.

Buffer System and Stock Configuration

The kit includes a carbine-length buffer tube with a 3.76-ounce LR-308 collapsible buffer and 17-7 stainless steel extra power spring made in the USA. The Adaptive Tactical EX Performance stock offers six positions for length-of-pull adjustment. This carbine-length setup keeps the rifle compact while maintaining the reliability of a proven buffer system design.
