First, I did not get the 3.5X42 as it has been replaced by the 4.6X42 model. It takes some practice to get the hang of the controls; most everything is done by a pushbutton and it's surrounding ring. My biggest complaint is the narrow range of adjustment to get it zeroed. The +/- 30 clicks don't change much at close range. Because zeroing is mostly done during daylight and clarity is degraded then, the scope has to be close to zero to begin with. On the other hand, the night vision works very well, especially when factoring in the price. Mine was missing the video out cable, but customer service quickly sent one. I had no experience with night vision since the Starlight Scopes the Army used back in the 60s. The image on this is much clearer. I have been window shopping for a second night vision scope and I don't think that I've found anything as good for less than three times the price. As it stands now, I'll be getting a second one of these.
