Construction and Design

The Davidson Defense stripped AR-15 upper receiver is precision machined aluminum in a raw unfinished state with no anodizing, Cerakote, or other surface treatment applied. The raw finish makes this receiver well-suited for custom coating and finishing applications where a bare aluminum surface is required. The flat top design features an integrated Picatinny top rail across the top of the receiver for optic and accessory mounting, M4 feed ramps for the barrel and cartridge feed interface, an integrated shell deflector, a forward assist provision for forward assist installation, a dust cover provision for ejection port cover installation, and a standard AR-15 barrel nut thread interface for barrel and handguard assembly. The receiver is compatible with Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers and ships as a stripped receiver with no barrel, handguard, dust cover, forward assist, or other components included.
