There was something about walking through Arlington Cemetery that makes you stop and think about everyone who was laid to rest there. Walking amongst the white stones, it is very serene. We were lucky enough to watch the changing of the guard as well outside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb that stands for every soldier that has passed along from this life and whose remains are still unidentified.

It was Arlington Cemetery where the first Decoration Day was held. It was held on the 30th of May due to the fact that flowers would be in bloom all across the country so people would have plenty to decorate the graves with.

Quote of the Day: "I'd rather give my life than be afraid to give it." -Lyndon B. Johnson
