One of the most important parts of any AR-15 is the handguard. Handguards have gone through many changes over the years from the plastic clamshell style to the free float system. Both systems give the shooter a comfortable grip while protecting their hand from the heat that radiates from the barrel. Both systems have many different designs and features built into them but the free-float system tends to be more modular. While some of the drop-in handguards offer M-Lok slots and QD mount points, most free float systems offer those same options and usually more available slots. Most handguard options have built-in options for mounting lights, lasers, pop-up sights, etc. and those that don't have them built in may have M-Lok or Keymod options for mounting accessories. It is recommended that a free float handguard completely covers the gas system so please consider your gas system length when shopping for a handguard. About This Handguard: The Gauntlet Arms AR-15 Freefloat Handguard is 15" long and machined with an M-Lok accessory mounting system.

Anti-Rotation Tabs: This AR-15 Freefloat Handguard comes with anti-rotation tabs. These anti-rotation tabs are used to maintain alignment between the upper rail of the handguard and the upper rail of the upper receiver. Anti-rotation tabs are most commonly used with Mil-Spec or forged AR-15 upper receivers because AR-15 uppers machined from billet aluminum are too narrow for them to fit.

Profile: This free-float handguard is made with a slim profile. This is a great design for shooters with smaller hands and creates a unique look for the entire AR-15 build.

Material Of Handguard: Due to the need to have light yet strong handguards, the Gauntlet Arms AR-15 free-float handguard is constructed from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum extrusion.

Type Of Top Rail: This Gauntlet Arms Handguard is CNC machined with M-Lok cutouts across the top handguard with Picatinny rails machined at both ends.

QD: The Gauntlet Arms Handguard has 4 QD mounts CNC machined into the handguard for quick and easy sling attachment/detachment.

These Trinity Force M-Lok rail sections are a low profile, lightweight mount for weapon lights and lasers. They feature a skeletonized underside to help reduce weight. They are also crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and are hard-coated anodized to improve durability and longevity.
