Barrel and Muzzle
The 7.5-inch "Akali" barrel is machined from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel in an HBAR profile and finished in Phosphate, a matte, corrosion-resistant treatment that gives it a clean, uniform look. Its 1:10 twist rate is suited to a wide range of 9mm bullet weights. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x36, the common thread pitch for 9mm devices, and carries the included 9mm A2 birdcage flash hider.
Upper Receiver and Handguard
The upper receiver is a Vertex Enhanced Pistol Caliber billet unit machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hard coat anodizing, a hard, wear-resistant surface that resists scratches and corrosion. It is built specifically for pistol-caliber applications. It is paired with a black free-float handguard machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. As a free-float design, it leaves the barrel free of handguard contact, giving the barrel room to work without handguard pressure.
Bolt Carrier Group and Charging Handle
The included 9mm bolt carrier group is machined from 416 stainless steel with a Nitride finish, which adds hardness and corrosion resistance and helps the carrier stand up to repeated cycling. It uses an external extractor and accepts both Glock and Colt pattern magazines. It is paired with a mil-spec quality AR-15 M4 charging handle, completing the upper so it is ready to be matched with a compatible lower receiver.
