One of the most critical components of any LR-308 custom build is the handguard. In recent years free-float handguards have increased in popularity. The free-float handguard covers the barrel and is attached to the upper receiver via a barrel nut. The handguard serves many functions in an LR-308 build kit such as protecting the shooter's hand from being burned by the barrel, offering the shooter something to grip to help steady the weapon, can function as the attachment point for sights/optic, can have additional accessories attached, and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the Handguard is treated with a black cerakote finish.
