Barrel and Upper Receiver

The 5-inch slim profile barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a phosphate finish and a 1:10 twist rate. The AR-9 platform operates via direct blowback. The muzzle is threaded at 1-in-2x36 and pairs with the included 9mm A2 birdcage flash hider in manganese phosphate finish. The upper receiver is 7075-T6 aluminum with M4 feed ramps and an anodized finish, serving as the core front end structure for the AR-9 build. M4 feed ramps support reliable cartridge feeding from the magazine into the chamber. The 9mm configuration requires a 9mm bolt carrier group, which is not included with this upper build kit.

Handguard

The Guntec 4-inch honeycomb freefloat M-Lok handguard is 6061-T6 aluminum with an anodized purple finish, keeping the forend lightweight and compact. The honeycomb pattern reduces weight across the handguard body while the M-Lok slots provide attachment points for lights, grips, and other accessories. The handguard length is shorter than the 5-inch barrel, and the muzzle device extends beyond the handguard to provide the necessary clearance.
