ELD Performance "Kukri" AR-15 9mm 6", 1-10T Nitride Barrel

General Barrel Info: The barrel on a 9mm AR-15 barrel operates under 'direct blowback' there is no gas system directly connected to a 9mm AR-15 barrel for the system to cycle. By design 9mm AR-15 barrels are affordable and come in many sizes, rifle, and pistol. This includes many of the familiar barrel profiles found on standard/common AR-15 platforms. Building an AR-15 chambered in 9mm is a great choice for training, or for your next Pistol Caliber Carbine build.

About This Barrel: The Barrel is made by ELD Performance it is 6" long, is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium, and is finished in a Nitride appearance. Chambered for a 9mm Luger, using a medium profile design, this barrel will be a perfect choice for your next AR-15 PCC.

About the Profile: Medium - Medium Profile barrels are designed to have an even weight distributed from the beginning to the end of the barrel, this results in a rather tubular-looking appearance but with identical rigidity and properties to a government profile barrel.

Barrel Classification: Pistol

Length: This Barrel is designated as a Pistol length barrel with an overall length of 6".

Caliber: 9mm - This barrel is chambered in 9mm, perfect for light recoiling pistol caliber carbines or rifles. 9mm is the most popular pistol cartridge in North America.

Material: 4150 CrMoV - Chrome-Moly Vanadium, or simply "CMV", is the official mil-spec gun steel developed by Colt Firearms for the military-issued M16 and M4. It contains the same elements as 4150 steel. It also contains Vanadium. Vanadium significantly increases the strength, hardness, and high-temperature stability of steel.

Finish: Nitride - Nitriding is a process during manufacturing that diffuses nitrogen into the steel to make a case-hardened surface for improved resistance and strength. A Nitrided barrel typically has a gloss-black texture.

Thread Pitch: 1/2x28 - This threading is commonly found on barrels chambered in 5.56, .223, and .224. This will allow the installation of most muzzle devices such as flash hiders, blast cans, and compensators threaded to 1/2x28 threads.

Recoil Technologies "Chaffee" Steel Flash Can Design 1/2X28 Muzzle Device

There are three main types of muzzle devices for your weapon: flash suppressors/flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and compensators. AR-15s are getting more and more popular every day, partially due to their low recoil and muzzle rise. But with a good muzzle brake, recoil can be reduced even more. With a good compensator, muzzle rise significantly drops, almost vanishing. And while muzzle flash cannot be eliminated, it can be significantly reduced with a quality flash hider. These muzzle devices are growing increasingly popular due to how easy they are to put on, 5-10 minutes with the right tool, because of their incredible efficiency, and because they make a cool-looking gun.

About This Muzzle Device: Flash Hider - A flash hider is exactly what it sounds like. This muzzle device is designed to hide the flash of your rifle. While modern-day ARs and ammo are designed to burn as much gunpowder as possible, it doesn't always happen that way. Sometimes, there is remaining powder burnt causing the visible flash out of the end of your weapon. A good flash hider, although not able to completely remove the flash effect. Can significantly remove the flash from the end of your barrel.

Threading: 1/2x28 Is a common thread type for muzzle devices made for .22 caliber projectiles, commonly found on AR-15 barrels chambered in .223 Wylde, 5.56 NATO, and including .224 Valkyrie.

Finish: Manganese Phosphate - Manganese Phosphate finishes are used on barrels to protect against corrosion and wear. Manganese Phosphate finish is considered for its toughness and is used in multiple different applications such as aerospace, ordnance, and other firearms-related parts.
