The Vampire V3 is a 5.56 NATO build on a 16-inch nitrided barrel with a 1:7 twist and a carbine-length gas system. It stands apart from the V5 with a nitrided crown-style muzzle brake, and it uses a Gauntlet Arms Slant-Pro M-LOK rail. This is the upper build kit version. You get the barrel, gas system, muzzle device, upper receiver and handguard, and you supply your own bolt carrier group and charging handle. That makes it a good fit if you already have a BCG you like or want to choose one yourself.

Barrel and Gas System

The barrel is a 16-inch 5.56 NATO in 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel, nitrided and turned to a medium government profile. It has a 1:7 twist, a carbine-length gas system and a .750-inch gas block journal, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2x28. A micro low-profile steel gas block sits on the journal and stays hidden under the handguard. Gas runs back through a stainless steel carbine-length gas tube. Instead of a flash hider, the muzzle gets a steel crown-style muzzle brake with two chambers and four ports, finished in black nitride and made in the USA.

Upper Receiver and Handguard

The upper receiver is a 7075-T6 aluminum AR-15 upper with M4 feed ramps and an anodized finish. The forward assist and an ejection port door with its rod and spring come with it. The handguard is a Gauntlet Arms 15-inch M-LOK Slant-Pro in 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard coat. It has a flat top, a short quad rail section at the front, oblong lightening cuts and built-in QD sling mounts, and anti-rotation tabs keep it lined up with the upper.
