Helot Slide and Black Nitride Finish

The Helios Helot slide is 17-4 stainless steel with a black nitride finish applied over the exterior. Black nitride diffuses nitrogen into the steel surface under heat to produce a hard, corrosion-resistant layer that is part of the steel itself rather than a coating sitting on top of it. The 17-4 stainless base material provides additional inherent corrosion resistance beneath the nitride treatment. Front and rear serrations are machined into the slide for positive grip during slide manipulation from either end. Window cuts remove material from the slide body for weight reduction.
