The Shock Skag is a complete .308 Winchester LR-308 pattern pistol built around a 12.5-inch carbine-length gas platform. The upper side centers on a 12.5-inch Mandrake LR-308 medium profile barrel with a nitride finish, 1:10 twist rate, and 5/8x24 thread pitch, paired with a .308 standoff muzzle brake and a black crush washer. A Recoil Technologies micro low-profile gas block at 0.750 diameter and a carbine-length stainless steel gas tube are included on the front end. The Spectre LR-308 high profile upper receiver carries a black anodized finish with a forward assist and an LR-308 ejection port door assembly, paired with a 10-inch DPMS high profile freefloat M-LOK handguard. A nitride LR-308 bolt carrier group compatible with .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .243 Winchester, and an LR-308 aluminum charging handle complete the upper side. The lower is an M5 bare stripped lower receiver with a DPMS cut and black anodized finish. The Aero Precision M5 standard lower parts kit includes an AR-15 M4 polymer grip with a storage compartment. The buffer system consists of a Mil-Spec heavy-duty 6-position buffer tube, a 3.76 oz LR-308 collapsible stock buffer, an AR-10 carbine extra power buffer spring, an ambidextrous QD sling end plate, and an AR-15 carbine castle nut. The SB Tactical SBA4 adjustable pistol stabilizing brace is included.
