Freefloat Handguard Design

The M-Lok freefloat handguard isolates the barrel from the upper receiver, eliminating contact that can shift point of impact. 9MM Caliber Considerations

The AR-9 platform cycles 9x19mm ammunition through a blowback operating system, which means this build uses a different bolt carrier and buffer weight than standard 5.56 rifles. The 5.5 oz buffer in the heavy-duty tube is tuned for reliable 9mm cycling. Ammunition selection matters with this platform, as underpowered or dirty ammunition can cause feeding issues. Standard 9mm range ammo works fine, but quality matters more in blowback systems than direct impingement.

Complete Kit Exclusions

Lower receiver not included. You'll need to source a stripped AR-9 lower receiver and serialize it according to federal law before assembly. The kit provides the upper assembly, bolt carrier group, charging handle, buffer tube, buffer, recoil spring, castle nut, end plate, and lower parts kit needed to complete a functional rifle once the lower receiver is obtained.
