Why pay $150 to mill your slide when you can have a brand-new one, complete and optics-ready for the same price?
If you are doing a budget build, the Delta Team Paladin is hard to beat.
Wait, so what is a Paladin (and why use the name)?
Paladins were held in serious respect back in the day.
These guys weren't just regular troops—they were top-tier commanders and trusted advisors who had full authority to run operations and enforce the law for the king. As part of the royal guard, they were an elite crew similar to King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table. Legend had it they had insane fighting skills and wielded top-of-the-line, mythic gear.
At the end of the day, paladins were the ultimate high-level security detail for kings and emperors.
So what is a Paladin Glock slide?
Glock clones come at all price points, from the extreme (low) budget all the way to the cost of a used car.
If you want to spend the cost of a used car, this is not the slide for you.
The Paladin is an amazing value for the price- there are not a lot of Generation 3 glock slides with these features at this price.
The slide is American made, precision machined, 416 stainless steel (which actually handles high heat better than 17-4). The barrel is a special alloy designed specifically for use in gun barrels (416R), selected to ensure quality.
The window cuts make for less felt recoil, and make an upgrade to a ported barrel quick and easy (if it didn’t already come with one). They also allow for better heat dissipation, so on the days you throw a lot of lead downrange, you have a lower chance of a problem.
The serrations are carefully cut to ensure ease of grip when manipulating the slide. Ever had a hand covered in sweat while you try to grab a stock gen 3 glock slide and rack it? Years of experience have led to the design on these, and we want you to benefit from that.
The optic cut is RMR. That means this is ready to accept your Trijicon RMR, or your Holosun 407C, or all sorts of other very popular options, providing a widely useful host for pistol optics.
Even the cover plate for the optic is made of aluminum to minimize weight (the reciprocating mass), allowing faster, easier target acquisition and firing.
The slide is coated in a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating, such as the Black Nitride (excellent durability with lower friction), and is quality checked by experts before it is sent out, making an easier to clean, easier to maintain slide that looks great.
There are even options for the very budget conscious, with complete, unassembled slides as some of the best value you will find. I personally like the threaded barrels with rainbow finish, but there are a lot of options to choose from.
In short, a Paladin slide is designed to shoot quickly, shoot straight, and work as a solid option for either carry or the range.
So is a Paladin worth it?
If you want to spend as much as your monthly rent on a slide, you certainly can- plenty of people do.
If you want something that performs well, looks good either in your holster or in your hand, holds an optic that you like, and won’t break the bank, we recommend the Paladin.
