The Holdfast w/Gauntlet Arms Brace is a Full Build Kit built around a 9-inch dedicated .22 LR barrel with a pencil profile, paired with a 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver finished in Type III hardcoat anodizing. It pairs a 10-inch free-float M-LOK handguard with a Davidson Defense Teardrop rimfire suppressor mounted at the muzzle. A dedicated stainless steel .22 LR bolt group, Mil-Spec charging handle, complete Lower Parts Kit, pistol-caliber buffer-system components, and a Gauntlet Arms polymer stabilizing brace round out the rest of the build. The lower receiver is not included, leaving the buyer to select and supply that component separately.

Barrel and Suppressor

The barrel on the Holdfast runs 9 inches long, purpose-built for .22 LR in a slender pencil profile rather than a heavier centerfire contour, and it carries a 1/2x28 muzzle thread at its end. Mounted onto that thread is a Davidson Defense Teardrop suppressor, a lightweight K-baffle rimfire design machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in black anodizing to match the rest of the build. The suppressor itself measures 5.75 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter, adding just 3.4 ounces to the front end of the rifle, and it threads directly onto the barrel's 1/2x28 pattern without an adapter.

Upper Receiver and Handguard

The upper receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in a durable Type III hardcoat anodizing, cut with M4 feed ramps to promote smooth, reliable feeding and fitted with a forward assist for manually seating the bolt when needed. The ejection port carries a standard .223/5.56-pattern door complete with its rod and spring. Wrapping around the barrel is a 10-inch free-float handguard, built with a quad-rail front section for accessory mounting, front and rear QD sling mounts for quick sling attachment, a slanted front face, and anti-rotation tabs to keep the handguard properly indexed.

Bolt Group and Charging Handle

Cycling this rimfire build is a dedicated .22 LR bolt group machined from stainless steel, purpose-built for this chambering rather than adapted from a centerfire design. A Mil-Spec AR-15 M4 charging handle completes the upper's operating hardware, giving the shooter a familiar manipulation point.

Lower Parts Kit and Buffer System

Rounding out the lower internals is a complete Mil-Spec AR-15 Lower Parts Kit, which includes a Mil-Spec A2 pistol grip along with the fire-control components needed once a lower receiver is on hand. Behind the receiver sits a heavy-duty pistol buffer tube built for AR-15 and AR-style pistols, holding a standard 3-ounce carbine buffer and a standard USA-made recoil spring. A Mil-Spec AR-15 carbine castle nut and Mil-Spec M16 receiver end plate secure that buffer tube assembly to the lower.

Stabilizing Brace

Finishing off the rear of the build is a Gauntlet Arms polymer stabilizing brace, finished in black. It mounts directly onto the pistol buffer tube included with this kit, built specifically for pistol-configured AR platforms like this .22 LR build rather than a standard carbine buffer tube.
