Sharps Bros Gen 2 Livewire Receiver Design

The Sharps Bros Gen 2 Livewire is a forged lower receiver machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, a material known for strength and durability in precision firearms applications. The forging process creates a denser, more robust receiver compared to billet construction. The receiver weighs 8.70 ounces and measures 2.30 inches by 4.35 inches by 8.75 inches. Black anodized finish provides corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. The receiver accepts standard AR-15 upper assemblies and is compatible with mil-spec components throughout.

Ambidextrous Bolt Release Control

The ambidextrous bolt release allows you to lock the bolt back from either the left or right side of the receiver. This feature benefits shooters who are left-handed or prefer to operate controls from their support hand without repositioning their firing hand. The bolt catch pin is threaded and included with the kit, simplifying installation and providing a secure fit. This control scheme is standard across most modern AR-15 designs and requires no special training to operate.
