The Davidson Defense Ronin Competition with Magpul BTR Brace is an AR-15 pistol full build kit chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 10.5-inch government profile barrel. The kit includes the upper assembly, bolt carrier group, charging handle, Magpul BTR polymer pistol brace, mil-spec heavy-duty 6-position buffer tube, 3 oz carbine buffer, carbine recoil spring, mil-spec receiver end plate, lower parts kit, and all associated buffer system hardware. The lower receiver is not included.

Barrel and Gas System

The 10.5-inch government profile barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a phosphate finish and a 1:7 twist rate. The barrel handles the 5.56 NATO chamber and provides the threaded muzzle end for the included GI birdcage flash hider in manganese phosphate finish at a 1-in-2x28 thread pitch. The carbine-length gas system uses a .750 O.D. steel micro low-profile gas block paired with a stainless steel carbine-length gas tube, positioned beneath the handguard to keep the forend profile clean and unobstructed.

Upper Receiver and Handguard

The slick side billet upper receiver is 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type 3 Class 2 hardcoat anodized finish. The slick side profile removes the forward assist and ejection port door provisions found on standard upper receivers, giving the build a cleaner exterior profile. The ACE-20 Series 10-inch freefloat M-Lok handguard is 6061-T6 aluminum in black, giving the build a clean forend with M-Lok accessory slots for lights, grips, and other attachments. The handguard length matches the 10.5-inch barrel, with the muzzle device providing clearance beyond the handguard.

Bolt Carrier Group and Charging Handle

The included bolt carrier group is a complete AR-15 unit with a 9310 alloy steel bolt head and an 8620 alloy steel body, finished in nitride. It is compatible with 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, .300 Blackout, and .350 Legend configurations. The mil-spec M4 charging handle completes the upper component set.

Magpul BTR Brace and Buffer System

The Magpul BTR pistol brace is polymer in black and pairs with the included mil-spec heavy-duty 6-position buffer tube. The 3 oz carbine buffer, carbine recoil spring, mil-spec receiver end plate, lower parts kit, and all associated buffer system hardware cover the core lower completion components outside the serialized lower receiver.
